Community Day 3

Community Day 3

Almost halfway there and Community Week is now in full swing.

Today’s highlights included a visit from two very brave young girls, Caitlin and Catriona, who stepped right out of their comfort zones to raise money for the Little Princess Trust charity. The girls agreed to have their long hair cut off so that it can be used to create wigs for those who need them. It was a huge gesture from two selfless children who went on to raise over £200, and a proud and heartfelt moment for Aspire’s hair and beauty salon.

We also seemed to gain some extra bodies in the building. Scarecrows, to be exact. Some of the focus of this year’s community week is to bring some character to Aspire’s external grounds. To make this tie in with Hull2017, the scarecrows have been made in the celebration of some of Hull’s most influential persons, such as William Wilberforce and Amy Johnson.

What a day!
